Leo Schaefer Obituary

Leo B. (Lee) Schaefer, age 85, died June 21, 2017.
Lee was born in Louisville on April 3, 1932, the son of F. Lee and Mary Agnes Kilkenny Schaefer. He was a retired accounting manager with General Electric, a graduate of St. Xavier High School and the University of Louisville, and a lifetime University of Kentucky supporter. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, the St. Joseph Orphan Society, the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, the NRA, and the St. Xavier 50 Year Club.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley Ann (Ratterman) and by his parents and his brother Jim and his wife Ruth.
He is survived by his children: Nancy Schroeder (Craig), Michael, Sandy Mohon (Scott) and Julie Spooner (Tom) and by his grandchildren: Casey Link (John), Alison, Brennan, Leah, Evan, Seth, Teegan, Audrey and Ava, and great grandson Knox. He is also survived by his brother Bob (Carole) and many nieces and nephews. Thank you to the staff at Glenridge and Hosparus of Louisville.
The funeral Mass will be 11;00 A.M. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1960 Bardstown Road, with interment at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison Avenue at Barret Avenue.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Men of eXcellence Fund at St. Xavier High School.
