Leon Harrison Sr. Obituary

Leon Harrison, Sr. transitioned from this life at St. Joseph Hospice on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the age of 64. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Leon was a graduate of O. Perry Walker High School Class of 1978. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served as a Military Police Officer. Leon was also a veteran of the United States Army where he achieved rank as a Staff Sergeant. Devoted father of Leon Harrison, Jr. Beloved son of the late John Henry Harrison, Jr. and Gladys Taylor Harrison. Brother of Darryl (Eurydice) and the late Karl (Sherry) Harrison. Uncle of Karlisha Cain (Romond) Johnson, Jazmine and Karl Cain, Daria Harrison (Luke) Russell, and Elyse D. Harrison. Great uncle of Luka D. Russell. Nephew of Gloria T. Peterson, Irma T. Gibson (godmother) Laurette T. Reece, Veronica T. Conerly, Velma T. Clincy, Selica T. Taylor, Kenneth Taylor, James Conerly, Gregorey Clincy, and the late Phillip Peterson, Rev. Herman Gibson, Rodney Reece, Robert Taylor, and Welton Taylor. Godbrother of Clotilde and Irving Cummings, also survived by a host of cousins, other relatives, longtime friends, and neighbors. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Asbury United Methodist Church, St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, Olive Branch Baptist Church, Fischer Community Church, Shiloh Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches, priest and parishioners of All Saints Catholic Church are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St., Gretna, LA on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Clifton C. Conrad, Sr. of Cornerstone Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time at the parlor. Interment: Will be held at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Dr., Slidell, LA on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. To view and sign the guestbook, please go to www.davismortuaryservice.com.
