Lillie Mae Riley Baker entered eternal rest on Monday, November 6, 2023, at home with her family. Mrs. Baker was 95 years old. Mrs. Baker was born in Narin, Louisiana, and later became a resident of New Orleans, LA in Algiers for over 30 years. Daughter of the late Hobson Petty Riley Sr., and Ethel "Sweetie" Carrier Riley. Mother of Percy Alvin Baker (Donna) and Carol Baker Morris (Tommy). Sister of Rev. Clarence Riley Sr. (Carrie), the late Edwin Hobson Riley (Gloria), Hobson Petty Riley Jr, and Hattie Trufant (Melvin), grandmother of Corey Baker Sr, Trichelle Harrison Robinson, Kamala Baker Jackson (Jason), Veda Morris, Alfreda Baker, and the late Tommy Morris Jr. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, a host of God Children, nieces, and nephews. Mrs. Baker was known for her love of fashion, her creative abilities as a florist and her impeccable cooking skills. She will be missed by many. A member of St Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Ironton, LA, pastored by Rev. Dr. Haywood Johnson. She retired from Belle Chasse State School, and Mary & Joseph's Little Sisters of the Poor Nursing Home. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the celebration of life service which will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Christian Life Bible Church located at 16 Westbank Expressway, Gretna, LA 70053. The visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., and the service will begin at 12:30 p.m. Rev. Dr. Ava Richardson is the host pastor and Rev. Dr. Haywood Johnson Jr. is officiating. Entombment will follow at Ironton Cemetery in Ironton, La. Funeral planning entrusted to Robinson Family Funeral Home 9611 LA – 23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037, (504) 208 – 2119.
