Lionel Ervin Nash Sr.

Lionel Ervin Nash, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 29, 2021 at his residence at the age of 75. He was born and lived in New Orleans, LA and the eighth child born to the late Andre Sr. and Sedonia Irvin Nash. Lionel was educated in the Orleans Parish school system. He was employed by William B Colemen, Gulf Lumber Co. and Nash Roofing and Sheet Metal. He was a Master Carpenter by trade. Lionel was the father of one son, the late Lionel Nash Jr. He leaves to cherish in his memory his devoted companion, Brenda Lewis; three loving and caring sisters: Theresa (late Robert) LeBlanc, Catherine (Albert) Jones and Georgaina (Rev. Mark) Sandifer and godchild Yolanda N LeBlanc. Lionel was like a father to Glenn, Jermaine Dixon, Tamara Trice, Trina (David) Daniels, Quentin, Antoine, Tracey, Dorothy and Jazz Lewis. He leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, a devoted longtime friend Pat Tucker and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Lionel was preceded in death by his parents, Andre Sr and Sedonia Irvin Nash, his son Lionel Nash Jr.; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Andre Jr, Bobby and Lloyd Nash Sr. (Ava); four sisters and brothers-in-law: Ella Mae Gilmore, Luthel Williams, Josephine (Southern) Conley and Celestine (Frank) Cook. Relatives and friends of the family; pastors, officers and members of Greater Jehovah B.C., Mount Everest B.C., Gloryland B.C., New Beginnings Church are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, December 4, 2021 beginning 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Church, 4311 S. Claiborne Avenue. Rev. Mark Sandifer, pastor of Gr. Jehovah B.C., officiating, Rev. Arthur Griffin, host pastor. Church visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
