Lloyd Joseph Autin Sr.

1927 - 2024

Lloyd Joseph Autin, Sr. December 1, 1927 - June 15, 2024. Age 96 years of Marrero, Louisiana, retired from a full career in insurance sales with Mutual of Omaha, Security Plan, and People's Health. Lloyd served in the U.S. Navy 1945-1949 and was a member of Endymion Carnival Club for over 50 years beginning in 1968. He also belonged to the Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day Club along with many other charitable and social organizations throughout the metro area of the City of New Orleans. He is preceded in death by his beloved spouse of 54 years, Anetta Saddler Autin; his parents, Whitley and Celestine Autin; his siblings, Oscar Joseph Autin, Lena Loisel, Irene Warr, Murphy Joseph Autin, Laura Mae Leaber, and Lois Melanson. Lloyd is survived by his children, Glen Lloyd Autin (Lequita), Andre' Lloyd Autin, (Debbie), Nannette Autin Groh (George), Lynette Autin Gondek (Robert), Lloyd Joseph Autin, Jr. (Donna); his grandchildren, Scott Autin, Kevin Autin (Shannon), Amy Autin Waggoner (Barry), Tyann Gaddis, Wesley Gaddis, Ashley Autin (Nick), Ashton Autin, Christopher Groh (Miranda), Gregory Groh, R. Matthew Gondek, Julie May Gondek, Katie Marie Autin, and Kohl Preston (DJ). He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Christ Church Cathedral 2919 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70115. In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial donations to St. Michael Special School 1522 Chippewa Street, New Orleans, LA 70130.
