Lois LeBlanc Obituary

Lois Rita Thiel LeBlanc was born in New Orleans in 1923. At 97 years young, Lois was booked by the highest power on February 13, 2021 to play her best and most soulful "gig" ever. Lois was born blessed with natural musical and artistic talent and an outgoing personality. When she was a teenager, she would carry her accordion to injured soldiers to play music and sing for them. As a young artist, a few of her paintings hung in the New Orleans Museum of Art in City Park. She was too young to accept the offer, but a submission in a sketch contest resulted in a job offer from Walt Disney Studios. Her beloved husband Robert John LeBlanc Jr passed in 1962. As a young widow, Lois had an interesting work career, especially as a woman "in those days". She worked at Camp Leroy Johnson in the 50s and worked office jobs in the 60s and 70s to "pay the bills", but her favorite jobs were those night gigs "tickling the ivories". "Peaches" (stage name) played and sang with regulars and tourists many a night at Pat O'Brien's and had fans all over the world. Lois was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was naturally glamorous and known by all for loving her makeup and hair products. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lois was loved by everyone for being a lively, fun and joyful person. Lois was preceded in death by her parents Marguerite Crozat Thiel and Theophile Thiel, her beloved husband "Bob" of 17 years, her newborn baby Louis (Lois/Teenie twin), and her 4 sisters: Luana Jambois, Anitra Decker, Diane Steen, and Yvette Thiel. Lois was survived by her loving children: Yvette Trahant, Robert John LeBlanc III (Bobby "L") (wife Charlotte), Lois Azzarello (Teenie), and her wonderful son-in-law Robert G Azzarello Sr (Bobby "A"); by her adoring and caring grandchildren Amelie Trahant, Alice Trahant, Robert Azzarello Jr, Daniel Trahant Jr (wife Britny), Brian Azzarello and Michael Azzarello; and by her precious great-grandchild, dance partner, craft buddy and play pal, Elodie LeBlanc Trahant. Farewell, Mom, Memere, Grandmere, Aunt Lois, Miss Lois, Miss LeBlanc, friend Lois, Peaches,"OMG". Nous t'aimerons tous pour toujours, ma chere! You will be an awesome guardian angel. Time to help those special angels who worked overtime watching over you all these years. They have definitely earned front row seats at your heavenly concerts! Services in New Orleans will be scheduled at a later date. Per Lois, Adieu chere famille et amis!
