Louis Alexis Sr.

ALEXIS Louis Alexis, Sr., a diligent and dedicated 25 year retired employee of Avondale Shipyard Avondale, LA, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Council 6369 for 30 years and held the position as Warden for 10 years. He was an active and faithful member of the Fishing Fifteen Social Club for 35 years until his death and served as Financial Secretary for several years. Husband of the late Lillian Alexis. Father of Cheryl Alexis Young of Clayton, NC., Beulah Alexis Hadrick of Missouri City, TX., Louis Alexis, Jr. of Westwego, La., and the late Alvin Alexis, Sr. Brother of Shirley Showell of Cape Cod, MA., and the late Alice Pierre and Eunice Valentine. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 23 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Age 91 years, a native of Thibodaux, La. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St., Gretna, La., on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 4:00p.m.- 6:00p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd., Marrero, La., on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 10:00a.m. Interment: St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Cemetery-Thibodaux, La.
