Louis Morris Brown Sr.

1945 - 2022

Louis Morris Brown, Sr. was born February 15, 1945 in New Orleans, LA to the late Arthur A. Sr., and Gertrude Rose Bijou Brown. He was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith. Louis was a very proud graduate of Saint Augustine High School, Class of 1965. He loved all things New Orleans, from its culture to its cuisine, but most of all, his beloved New Orleans Saints. Louis was employed by American Standard, retired from Avondale Shipyard and continued employment with Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home. Louis leaves behind his wife, Rochell Lewis Brown; four children, Christopher L. Brown, Sr. (Cheryl), Terry L. Brown-Alsanders (John), Louis M. Brown, Jr. (Carlita) and Matthew Brown, Sr; seven grandchildren, Jared Lombard, Kayla Brown, Christopher Brown, Jr., McKenzie Brown, Louis Brown, III and Matthew Brown, Jr; one great-granddaughter, Kaleah Brown; siblings, Velma Gaines-Miller, Urania Winnier and Arthur A. Brown, Jr. Louis is also survived by a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his loving companion, Cynthia L. Dardar. In addition to his parents, Louis was also preceded in death by two siblings, Merlyn P. Brown and Shirley A. Brown Senegal Paige. A Celebration service honoring the life of the late Mr. Louis Morris Brown, Sr. will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 10 AM.
