Louis Nash Obituary

Louis James "Jim" Nash, age 86, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at his residence, in Slidell, LA. Born on February 5, 1928 in Gulfport, MS and resided in New Orleans, LA until moving to Slidell, LA. A graduate of Warren Easton High School and served in the United States Navy. He was an avid fisherman and was a familiar face at Campo's Marina in Shell Beach, Breton Sound Marina and Delacroix. He also loved golf and was a long time member of Shady Oaks Golf Club at City Park. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Dolly and James Harley Nash, sister, Helen Souza and niece, Darlene Hansen. Beloved husband of Odette Gaudet Nash for 32 years. Father of Blake Nash, Sr. (Anne), Cindy Provensal (Ronnie), Dolly Samuel (Scott), and Jamie Caraher (Mike). Stepfather of Melanie Schunneman (Jeff). Grandfather of Blake Nash, Jr., Nicole Bruno (Anthony), Matthew and Mitchell Provensal, Jason (April), Brian, Colin, and Megan Caraher. Stepgrandfather of Johnny, Jr. and Casey Cangelosi, Sr. (Angelle), Jeramiah Gavin, Aria Sereno and Sandy Gillespie (Gilly). Great grandfather of Anne and Ella Bruno, Aubrey and Jacob Caraher, and Casey Cangelosi, Jr. Brother of Betty Hansen and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff of Canon Hospice and the wonderful sitters of Home Instead for the great care he received. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service in the chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Road, Covington, LA on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Visitation from 1:00 pm until service time. A "Celebration of Life" will follow at Springs of Life Cafe, 1141 Lee Road, Covington, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Canon Hospice of Slidell, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project. Jim was one of the nicest men you would ever meet. He was a very kind and gentle man who loved Odette. his family and of course fishing. I know he is having the time of his life fishing with Jesus and my husband Gene. We will have a celebration of your life, but you will be missed by everyone.

I'm so sorry to here of Mr. Jim passing, I worked with Mr. Jim at Sam's Wholesale club back in the 80s he was such a loving and caring man. My god be with you and your family.
