Louis Ricaud Obituary

Louis William Ricaud, Jr., age 77, passed away on March 6, 2022. A native of New Orleans, LA, Louie spent the last 27 years of his life in Peachtree Corners, GA. Preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Louis (Brue) Ricaud and brother Robert (Bobby). Survived by his children Charlotte, MaryElizabeth Cambre (John David), and Robert (Renee); grandchildren Jack, Isabelle, and Sydneigh Cambre; sister Suzette Blackwell (Michael); adopted son Gary Stelzel (Maureen (Mo)), and both of his ex-wives Donna Ricaud and Lana Rohal. A proud graduate of St Rose de Lima grammar school, St. Aloysius, and Tulane University. He served in the US Navy in the 60's. Retired from AT&T after spending his career with the family of Bell South companies. His life was never about the work for him-it was about the people. He had fond memories of growing up in New Orleans with cousins who were brothers and sisters to him. He enjoyed reminiscing about his time spent in Puerto Rico as well as the endless good times spent on his boat with his father on Lake Pontchartrain. Most recently, he enjoyed spending time with his neighborhood family in Peachtree Station and cheering for the Saints (and the Packers when they weren't on opposing sides of the ball). He is loved and his happy spirit will be missed by everyone that knew him. He will be laid to rest with his parents and brother at Garden of Memories in Metairie; no service will be held. If you would like to honor Louie's memory, please donate to the American Heart Association.

On behalf of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Alumni Association and Brother Martin High School, I offer our prayers and condolences. We will say a Mass in his memory.

Father of all, we pray to you for Louie, all those we love but see no longer. Grant to them eternal rest. Let light perpetual shine upon them. May his soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

I went to St Rose with Louis. He had beautiful blue eyes!

Louie was a fixture in our group of neighbors and friends in Peachtree Corners. When we gathered, we always enjoyed his presence. He always had interesting stories to share and always boasted about his children and grandchildren, giving us up dates on life events or milestones. He will be missed. May god keep him in his grace and may his family be blessed with the strength needed to get through this difficult loss.
