Loyce Esteves Obituary

ESTEVES Loyce Mae Lewis Esteves, a native of Childress County, TX and resident of Chalmette, LA for 52 years until Hurricane Katrina, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2007 at the age of 83. She was the beloved wife of Earl Sebastian Esteves Sr for over 57 years. Loving mother of Brenda J. Harms (wife of Geoff), Debra E. Guthans (wife of Tony), Cheryl E. Romeo (wife of Jack) and the late Earl S. Esteves II. Daughter of the late Louetta Bullock Lewis and Clarence E. Lewis. Sister of Joyce Lambert, Clara Silveira (wife of Tony) and the late Cecil Lewis, Marlon Lewis, Ouida Mae Lewis and Peggy Campbell. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her grandchildren David Harms (husband of Lisa), Michael Harms (husband of Mary), Meridith Mangiaracina (wife of Jason), Earl Esteves III, Douglas, Lauren & Nicholas Guthans and Trevor and Cara Romeo, and her great grandchild Eva Mangiaracina. Mrs. Esteves was a member of the Covenant United Methodist Church, the Packenham Homemakers Club, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 3706 and the UAW Retired Workers Organization. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, July 2nd, 2007 from 10:00AM 1:00PM. A funeral service will be celebrated in her memory beginning at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to help rebuild the Covenant United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 530, Chalmette, LA 70044-0530.

AUNT LOYCE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL, I CAN REMEMBER WHEN MOM AND DAD WOULD GO OVER TO SEE AUNT LOYCE AND UNCLE EARL, WHICH WAS PRETTY REGULAR, SHE ALWAYS WANTED TO GIVE US SOMETHING TO EAT, BUT BEFROE WE LEFT THE HOUSE AND ON THE WAY THERE DAD AND MOM WOULD SAY DON'T ASK FOR ANYTHING, AS SOON AS WE WALKED IN THERE WAS AUNT LOYCE WHAT DO YALL WANT TO EAT, JIMMY AND I WOULD SAY NOTHING, AND SHE WOULD ALWAYS FIX SOMETHING FOR US. ON THE WAY HOME DAD AND MOM WOULD FUSS WITH US. JIMMY WOULD SAY WELL DAD SHE GAVE IT TO US, WHAT YOU WANTED US TO DO. SHE WAS THE MOST SWEETIEST PERSON IN THE WORLD, SHE WOULD GIVE YOU ANYTHING.
