Margarita Masek Sanchez, 88, died April 19, 2021, of Lewy Body Dementia at The Trace Senior Living. She was born October 14, 1932, in Peten, Guatemala, daughter of Vaclav Masek Tumova and Helena Zivnustka Louda De Masek. Educated in Guatemala City and then studied two years at a private Catholic College, Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, PA. Margarita married Carlos Humberto Sanchez in Guatemala City in 1954. In 1955 they immigrated to New Orleans, LA., where she raised five children. While pursuing her passion for business, she would buy and sell real estate and later become the owner of an import shop. In 1968, her dream of becoming an American Citizen was fulfilled. She later inspired her husband to open his own printing company which, was a success. Margarita established a Bed and Breakfast in New Orleans that was referred to as the best-kept secret on Tulane Avenue. She was the epitome of a true entrepreneur and businesswoman who achieved the American Dream. Margarita took classes in flower arrangements and sold delicious homemade cakes that were her own creations. Her recipe for Ceviche was published in the River Road Recipes by the Junior League of Baton Rouge, LA. In addition to her parents, Margarita was predeceased by her son, Fernando Sanchez, her brothers, Jorge Masek and his wife Alicia, Vaclav Masek and his wife Rosario, and her brother-in-law Dr. Angel Paz. Surviving in addition to her husband, Carlos H. Sanchez, her sister, Rene Masek Paz, her daughters , Evelyn M. Sanchez and Yvonne M. Sanchez, her sons Paul Sanchez and his wife Sue and Thomas W. Sanchez and his wife Karen, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Keeping with Margarita's giving spirit, her remains will be donated to Genesis Legacy Whole Body Donation Foundation as she wished. Due to friends inability to attend because they reached the Heavenly Kingdom first there will not be any service. We love you Mommy and hold you in our hearts forever.

Margarita was a classy lady with a great sense of humor, quick wit, and a love for dance.
One of my favorite memories was at the family gatherings and her favorite song would be played Ay! Jalisco, No Te Rajes, this would get her up and go, she turned into a dancing machine no stopping her now. Another memory of her would be her greeting me whether arriving or leaving would be"Hello Mister" with her little hand ready for a good handshake.
I'll miss you, Little Miss Jalisco
