Maria Palomo Obituary

Maria Antonieta Palomo, beloved wife of the late Mario Hector Palomo, mother, grandmother and friend, died peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2003 in the company of her daughter and son, Ingrid and Anthony. Ms. Palomo was born in Canton, China and moved to Guatemala at the age of three. She completed her secondary studies at Sacred Heart High School and was a member of the basketball team. She also held an Accounting Degree. Aside from rearing her children and attending family chores, Ms. Palomo led OSLO SA, a family owned business, and was active in the production, sale and distribution of oriental food condiments. As a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, Touro Hospital and a devoted Christian, she dedicated the last ten years of her life to helping and bringing comfort to the ill and less fortunate. She was a parishioner of St. Ann Church of Metairie. She is survived by her two sons, daughter, son-in-law, daughters-in-law and six grandchildren: Mr. Eddie Palomo and Concetta Palomo, residents of Geneva, Switzerland; Ms. Ingrid Palomo-d'Aquin and Joseph F. d'Aquin, III, residents of Kenner, Louisiana; Mr. Anthony Palomo and Dina Palomo, residents of Kenner, Louisiana; Joseph F. d'Aquin, IV, Sarah Victoria d'Aquin, Sofia Palomo, Phillip Alexander d'Aquin, Rafael Palomo and baby Palomo. Mrs. Palomo is also survived by a sister and 3 brothers: Ms. Amanda Loo, Mr. Arturo Loo, Mr Raymond Arroyo and Mr. Efrain Arroyo. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral and interment. Visitation will be on Monday, May 12, 2003 from 7:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. and on Tuesday, May 13, 2003 from 10:00 A.M. until funeral time at LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, Louisiana. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at 11:00 A.M., followed by the interment at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may visit and sign the family guestbook at www.legacy.com
