Marie Aubert Keith

1923 - 2021

Marie Aubert Keith joined her late husband and the love of her life, Joseph "Red" Keith who died in 1976 on Monday, November 22, 2021 in heaven. Marie was born on October 17, 1923 to the late Emanuel Aubert and Marie Carmelite Baham. She is preceded in death by her brothers Joseph Aubert and his wife Tina, Harold Aubert, and her sister Claire Brotmeyer and her husband Irvin. She had just celebrated her 98th birthday with family and friends. Even though she was 98 everyone who knew her would attest to the fact that she had the mind of a 50 year old. She was a New Orleanian her entire life. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In her own words Marie didn't count her life in years but in the family, friends and life experiences she was blessed to have. She loved parties and people. She was an accomplished and successful business woman. After high school she attended Soule Business School. She worked at the Roosevelt Hotel for 20 years rising to the position of credit supervisor. She then went to work at the Downtown Howard Johnson retiring after 16 years as the resident manager. Anyone who met her, worked for her, or with her recognized her leadership skills and counted her as a true friend. She was a longtime parishioner of St Anthony of Padua. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, starting at 12:00 p.m. Followed by a Funeral Mass in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
