Marilyn Farley Obituary

Marilyn Lomax Farley passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at the age of 75.  Burial plans are to reunite her with her parents at Fair Lawn Cemetery in Fair Lawn, New Jersey on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 1:00 P.M.

Marilyn was the daughter of Willie Mae Lomax and Otto Lomax, born on Mother’s Day, May 14, 1945 in New York City.  Marilyn was a graduate of Seward Park High School in Manhattan’s Lower East Side and, later in life, graduated from Empire State College, proving it is never too late to seek an education to further one’s self.

Throughout her life, Marilyn was a steadying influence among family members and in her own home life with kids.  She received the influence of the knowledge of God from her parents and passed it on to her own children, instructing them in the ways of the Lord.  Marilyn’s stable nature, humor, and “mother’s worry” all communicated that she loved her children very dearly.  Guided by faith and a desire to have her children thrive on their own, all can look on her memory, recall her spirit of service and assuredly say, in the words of Jesus, “she hath done what she could.”

Marilyn is survived by her three children, Michael, Mark, and Michele, son-in-law Jeevan, grandchildren Josiah, Aaron, and Eli, and siblings Gail and Otto, Jr.
