Marion Robinson

Marion N. Robinson, 79, transitioned into eternal rest at the Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice on Thursday, October 6, 2022. Marion was a graduate of Fifth Ward High School, Southern University, and Southeastern Louisiana University. She received her BA degree in Education from Southern University and her Master's degree and + 30 from Southeastern LA University. She was an Educator in the St John the Baptist Parish School system for over 30 years. Marion leaves to cherish her legacy: her sons, Eugene Beckwith Jr. and Jesse Robinson Jr.; daughters-in-law, Sharon Beckwith and Cali Robinson; brothers, Clarence Tassin (Michelle), Percy Tassin Sr., Bernell Tassin Sr., Pastor Oscar Nelson and Pastor Marc Nelson; sisters, Debra Williams (Frank) and Joann Tassin; sister-in-law, Celisa Nelson and former sisters-in-law, Marcelle Nelson, Bernadette Tassin, Peggy Joseph, and Gloria Tassin. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren; Eugene Beckwith III, Kevon Beckwith, Emi I Delahoussaye and Milene Imasa; 3 great-grandchildren, Jashod Beckwith, Ivy and Jax Delahoussaye, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Marion is preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Beckwith Sr. and her late husband, Jesse Robinson Sr.; her parents, Marcel Nelson Sr., Bernard Tassin Sr., and Vivian R. Tassin; her brothers, Alfred Tassin, Bernard Tassin Jr., Leroy Tassin, and Marcel Nelson Jr.; and sister-in-law, Karen Tassin. Members of Rising Star Baptist Church, True Light Baptist Church, all surrounding churches, and St. John the Baptist School System are invited to attend Marion's life celebration on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 10 am at St. Mark Baptist Church, 132 Marquez St. in Mt Airy, LA. Pastor Oscar Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until service time. Interment: St John Memorial Gardens, 2205 W. Airline Hwy., Laplace, LA, 70068. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2022, from 3 pm until 6 pm at Bardell's Mortuary, 3856 LA-44, Mt. Airy, LA. Final care has been entrusted to Bardell's Mortuary of Mt Airy, LA.
