Marion Rita Reitmeyer Tighe

TIGHE Marion Rita Reitmeyer Tighe, age 94, beloved wife of the late Alvin J. Tighe, passed away on September 13, 2011. She was born on June 17, 1917, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Aicklen Reitmeyer and George R. Reitmeyer. She was the sister of the late Eleanor R. Mora, Frances R. Dauphin, George R. Reitmeyer, Jr., Emily R. Golden, and Muriel R. Grisamore. She is survived by her son, Alvin (Vin) Tighe, Jr. and his wife Ronda; her daughter, Bridget Tighe Doerr and her husband, Emmett; her son Blair Tighe and his wife Stephanie. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Laura Doerr; Briana Doerr Luthra and her husband Dhruv; Emmett Doerr, III and his fiancée, Amanda; Bryan Tighe and his wife, Laurie; Blair Tighe, Jr.; Shea Tighe; and Evan Tighe. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. After retiring from the Federal Land Bank in New Orleans in 1983, she moved around the U.S., following her grandchildren to Illinois and Florida, and finally to the Atlanta area where all her children and grandchildren settled. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchar-train Blvd. at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2011. Entombment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
