Marisa Saborio Obituary

Marisa Saborio, a beloved mother, wife, aunt, and friend to many passed away after a long battle with cancer on August 20, 2017 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. She was 56. Marisa was born in Managua, Nicaragua on July 2, 1961 to William and Nila Roa as the third of six siblings. She moved to New Orleans at the age of 17 to attend Loyola University, where she graduated with a degree in business. She married Danilo Saborio, also of Managua, at the age of 21. She gave birth to her only child, William Saborio, on November 6, 1988. She consistently served as a selfless role model and provider to her family. Her grace blossomed further in the workplace. Marisa worked at Dow-Jones Telerate, and later at the Pan-American Life Insurance Group, where she most recently served as a Vice-President. She touched the lives of many colleagues who knew her as a giving and dedicated mentor. Marisa is survived by her husband, Danilo, with whom she had just shared a 35th wedding anniversary, and her son, William. Visitation will be held at 9am Thursday August 24, 2017 followed by a Mass at 11am, at St. Benilde Church, 1901 Division St. in Metairie. Arrangements by JACOB SCHOEN & SON Funeral Home.
