Martha Stewart Obituary

Martha Norwood Stewart departed this life on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the age of 100, surrounded by her loving family. Wife of the late Benjamin A. Stewart, Sr. Daughter of the late James and Clara Norwood. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jacqueline Stewart Bagnerise (Jerome); her sisters and brothers, Inez Taylor, Ruth Harris, Selena Langston, Mennet Kincy, Clara Banks, Lillie, Willie, Lee, James and Walter Norwood. Mother of Sandra Stewart Torregano (Clement), Benjamin A. Stewart, Jr. (Regina), and Michael Stewart of Warsaw, Poland. Grandmother of Tracy Stewart Hill (Greg), Judge Tammy Stewart, Benjamin Stewart III (Brandi), Shannon Torregano, Nadia Torregano Bushnell,Esq. (Eric), Siobhan Torregano Fontenot (Jonathan), Kevin Stewart of Las Vegas, NV, Lillian Stewart of Frankfurt, Germany, Sarah Stewart of Seattle, WA,Chad Populis, Tonya Bagnerise Flot (Kevin), David, Janet, Daniel (Chanitra) and Dominic Gillard. Also survived by one sister-in-law, Bernice Norwood, sixteen great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors, priests and parishioners of St. James Major, St. Joseph the Worker and St. Cletus Catholic Churches, Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, Army Corps of Engineers, Belle Chase Academy, New Orleans Juvenile Court, Ochsner Hospital and the Staff of Canon Hospice are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM at New Phillippians MBC, 5234 N. Claiborne Ave, NOLA. Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Elder Anthony J. Jeanmarie III, pastor, officiating. Interment: Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements by D.W.
