Dear Gail and family, I don´t have words to tell you how sorry we are to hear about Martin. I still remember the picture I had of Martin and I sitting on the steps on Royal Street. We were both under five years old and Johnny LaMartina has my picture now. Diabetes is a horrible disease and hopefully someday they will have a cure for it but not soon enough. Hugs and love for you and your family. Marie (DiVincenti) Drago and Buddy

I met Martin as both USAR members in 1964. We both had basic training at 5he same time and continued as members of Co B 245th Combat Engineers. Martin was a sincere and extremely likeable man. Our paths crossed again in 1996 both living on the same street in Chalmette. It was an honor knowing Martin.
