Mary Ellen Davis, affectionately known as "Lil Rose," gained her heavenly angel wings at the age of 76 on Thursday, August 10, 2023. With heavy hearts, her loved ones gather to remember a woman whose life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and devotion. Mary's legacy will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who knew her. Mary's nurturing spirit extended to her role as a mother, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of her seven children. She is survived by her cherished daughters, Kecia Washington, Tiffany Campbell (Harold), Tameka Spencer (Preston), Olivia Mazique-Simmons, Ebony Coleman (Walter), and her youngest, Howard Washington. Additionally, her beloved son, Derrick Mazique, held a special place in her heart. The bonds of family were paramount to Mary, and her legacy will continue through her twenty-four adoring grandchildren. Mary's influence extended beyond her immediate family, as she remained a beloved sister to Ernestine Washington. She shared a close sibling relationship with her brothers, Frederick Washington and Wilbert Washington, whose shared memories will always keep her spirit alive. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest Joseph and Rosemary Washington, Sr. Mary was surrounded by a close-knit family. She was predeceased by her siblings, Emelda Washington, Elaine T. Orr and her brother, Ernest "Snow" Washington Sr. Their memories remain an enduring presence in the hearts of those who loved her. Mary's circle of friends and family extended far and wide, touching the lives of nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives. She was a beacon of strength and love, always ready with a warm smile and comforting presence. Her impact on the lives she touched is immeasurable. A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 10:00 AM at The Baloney Funeral Home, LLC, located at 1905 W Airline Hwy, Laplace, LA 70068. Repast immediately following at La Belle Place Reception & Conference Center in same location. Private burial.
