Lynne and family, my sympathies are with you. My mother passed away 1 1/2 years ago so I do truly understand what you are going through at this time. It DOES get better, I promise!

Miss Lauderdale was my American Literature teacher at Grace King High School. She was a bright light during the dismal time of adolescence. I will always be grateful for having spent time with such a strong, intelligent woman. To this day, I hold onto a gifted copy of Virginia Woolf's "A Room of One's Own," in which she wrote a wonderful inscription and highlighted passages that she thought I should pay particular attention to. My condolences go out to family and friends.

My heartfelt sympathy to all of you in the Lauderdale family. Mrs Lauderdale was my English teacher at Riverdale in the 1960s. I remember our intense class discussions about Huck Finn most vividly. I also baby sat for the "little Lauderdales". I certainly have never forgotten her, or the passion she had for teaching. She also took me to a concert once so that I could attend a formal vocal recital. It was very kind of her. I am sure most of her students could share fond memories of her. Again, my sympathies to all of you.
