Mary Margaret Jeter Maurin

MAURIN Mrs. Mary Margaret Jeter Maurin, Hammond, Louisiana, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at her home at the age of 87. She was born on November 3, 1919 in Greenfield, Tennessee and has been a resident of Hammond, LA most of her adult life. She adored her 4 daughters, her 11 grandchildren and her 13 great-grandchildren. She was a creative and talented homemaker who loved to paint, needlepoint, garden, an play bridge. In her later years, she was an active volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Hospice, and Holy Ghost Church Bereavement Commitee. She was preceded in death by: her loving husband, Paul Gerard Maurin; her sister, Annie Brock; and her brother, Robert Jeter. She is survived by 4 daughters: Nancy Bean of Baton Rouge, LA, Margaret Amar and her husband, Darrell Amar, Paulette Felder, and Mary Ellen Scherer all of Hammond, LA; her 11 grandchildren include: Shondra Whittington Broussard, Shelly Whittington Jenks, Michael Whittington, Darrell Amar, Robyn Amar Davis, Brandon Amar, Margaret Felder Mollega, Rob Felder, Andrew Felder, Jamie Scherer, and Lindsey Scherer. She was also blessed to have 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, July 20, 2007 from 9:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond, LA and a Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to Holy Ghost Catholic School, 507 North Magnolia Street, Hammond, LA 70401; Habitat for Humanity Shoppe, 302 North Cate Street, Hammond, LA 70401 or to Richard Murphy Hospice, 10613 Halbert Lane, Ponchatoula, LA 70454. Her daughters extend thier appreciation for the kind, compassionate and attentive care given to her by the hospice organization, her 7 angelic sitters, and Dr. Edmund Spiller, her friend and doctor.
