Mary Murray Murphy

1923 - 2017

Passed away peacefully, on June 6, 2017, at St. Joseph's Villa (Dundas), in her 94th year. Mary was born in Irvine-Ayrshire, Scotland and immigrated to Canada at the age of five. Beloved mother of Rosemary Rinaldo (Lou - deceased 2014) of North Port, Florida, Patricia Murphy (Jim Brigger) of Dundas, Joseph Murphy of Dundas, Michael Murphy of Charlottetown and Colleen Palmieri (Richard) of Stoney Creek. Dearly loved grandma of Lisa Brinley, Paula Zulewski and David Rinaldo; Joshua, Zachary and Benjamin Somer; Brian, Mark and Kevin Palmieri. Cherished great- grandma of Ella, Sophia; Simon, Maya, Claire; Liliana, Cooper, Wesley, Gia; Mabel; Ethan and Colin. Fondly remembered as Aunt Polly by her nieces and nephews. Survived by her dear sister, Jane Venturelli of Dundas. Predeceased by loving husband, Joseph Gregory Murphy (1990), parents Robert and Sarah Norton, brothers Robert and John and sisters Sarah and Margaret. Visitation at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue East, on Thursday, June 8, 2017, from 2-4 p.m and 6-9 p.m. A Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, (19 Viewpoint Avenue, Hamilton), where Mary was a parishioner for over 75 years. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. The family extends a special thank you to the staff and volunteers of St. Joseph's Villa, Maple Grove wing, for the care and comfort of our Mom.
