Mary Julian "Eleanor" Thonn

1935 - 2024

Surrounded by a room filled with family members praying the Rosary, Mary "Eleanor" Julian Thonn entered into eternal rest on August 18, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on February 15, 1935, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Thomas and Madie Julian, Eleanor lived the last 34 years of her life in Slidell, Louisiana, loving and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alcide Lawrence Thonn Sr., and two of her brothers, Gene and Charles Julian. Eleanor had an incredible ability to love unconditionally all those lucky enough to share her life. Eleanor leaves behind her children, Alcide Thonn (Karen), Donna Thonn, and Ellie Hardy (Donald); grandchildren, Donald Hardy (Alayna), Jennifer Thonn, Linsey Hardy (Nick), Suzanne Rotolo (Jarrod), and Nicole Thonn; great-grandchildren, Lexie, Cash, Andrew, Wren, and Abby; her sister, Catherine Leslie; and her brothers, Bubby (Lola) and Johnny Julian. Eleanor is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Audubon Funeral Home, located at 61101 Highway 11, Slidell, LA 70458. Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Eleanor will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell, LA following services.
