Mary Katherine Maffei Tromatore

Mary Katherine Maffei Tromatore passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Harahan on August 18th, 2018 at the age of 70. Born on January 20th, 1948 in New Orleans, Mary K. was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and Metairie. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of almost 50 years, Frank Tromatore. They renewed their 50th wedding vows exactly 6 months early on August 8th, 2018. Also survived by her two children, Christopher Tromatore and Kimberly Tromatore and two grand-cats, Beauty and Foster. She also leaves behind a host of family and friends including immediate family members: Her sister Carol Maffei McCann (Mark); sister-in-law Melanie Burns (Bum); nephews Brian Knighten (Sabrina) and Anthony Campo; and niece Angela Campo Wells (Aaron). And great nieces and nephews include Pearson, Andrew, Owen, Anna, Adalyn, and Benson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Frances Maffei; Frank and Honorine Tromatore; and her nephew Eric Knighten. Mary K. was a graduate of Mount Carmel Academy and Meadows Draughon Business College. Her creative passion led her to own a few small businesses focusing on floral design and costume jewelry. The family wish to thank St. Joseph's Nursing Home and Hospice Associates for their compassion. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
