Matthew Monus Obituary

Matthew Monus died on Saturday, March 14, 2015 and then, he gave hope and changed the lives of two families through a final act of compassion and generosity. He was born on Monday, May 11, 1970 in TX to Jerry Colbert and John Andrew Monus and lived most of his life in Covington, LA. The beloved husband of Anna Gallardo Monus, he is survived by his son - Andrew Matthew Monus; one daughter - Celeste A. Monus; two sisters - Liz Monus Simpson and Amber Simpson; two brothers - John and Raymond Monus; and three step children - Nicholas, Julian and Hannah Orozco. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. A wake is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with visitation on Thursday beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington will immediately follow services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stepping Up, at any Chase Bank or contact Anna at [email protected].
