Maxine Mildred Isidore

1941 - 2016

Maxine "Max" Mildred Isidore was called home on Friday, Dec. 2nd, 2016. Born on December 25, 1941 a New Orleans native. She worked at Loyola University and Dominican College for several years as a catering specialist. Later she went on to become a counselor for disadvantaged youth. She was preceded in death by her husband Joel C. Isidore, her mother Nolie P. Williams, step mother Mamie Miller, father Mack Miller and two sisters, Joyce Long and Geneva Williams. Survivors include her two daughters, Lydia Speaks (Rev. Ronald Speaks) and Arthemise I. Turner (Fred D. Turner Jr.) A loving grandmother to Ayana Simms, Destiny Turner, Janai Turner and great grandson Armon Simms. She was also foster parent to Troy-Lynn Jones. Step mother to Sharon McKendall, Diana Lee, Angela Isidore, Kenneth and Kevin Isidore and both the late Jewel Isidore and late stepson Rev. Larry Hood. She leaves behind a host of other grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial services will be held on Friday, 9 December 2016 @ 12:00 noon at Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave, New Orleans, Louisiana 70125 with private burial. Repast will be held at 1922 S. Rendon St., New Orleans, La. 70125, immediately following the services.
