Maxine Scott Obituary
"Together Again"
90, of Stone Creek, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 20, 2018 following a period of declining health. A daughter of the late Charles D. and Elizabeth D. Carlisle Snyder, Mickey was born on June 9, 1928, in her family's residence at Goshen, Ohio. Mickey was a long-time member of Barrs Mills Church of God, enjoyed planting her flowers and garden, along with feeding and watching birds and wildlife. She was a devoted wife, mother, and loved spending time with her family. She had also worked for a brief time at the former Dinger's Market in New Philadelphia.
On November 18, 1944, she married Arthur D. Scott, whom preceded her in death September 18, 2007. Surviving are sons, Art (Sue) Scott of Stone Creek, Chuck Scott of Stone Creek, John (Jona) Scott of Port Washington and Jim (Pam) Scott of Strasburg; a daughter, Nancy Schwartz and her fiancé, Terry Gregg of Coshocton; grandchildren, Greg (Monica) Scott of New Philadelphia, Wendy (Gary) Shumaker of Newcomerstown, Tim (Sommer) Scott of Port Washington, Julie Scott of New Philadelphia, Kristie (Jeff) Lillibridge of Avon Lake, Aaron Schwartz of Cambridge, Jamie Schwartz of Zanesville and Marci (Layton) Graves of Maryland; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Katelynn Scott, Nathan and Kelly Shumaker, Justin, Casey and Colton Scott, and Macy and Harrison Lillibridge; two sisters, Alice (Harley) Vogel of New Philadelphia and Betty Ballentine of Dover; and sisters-in-law, Marilyn Snyder and Ellen Schlimm of Strasburg. In addition to her parents, Mickey was also preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Williams and Margie Ellwood; three brothers, Robert Snyder, Charles Snyder and John Snyder; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Scott.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 25, 2018 from 2 to 5 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 1:30 PM in the funeral home's chapel with Dale and Vickie Gowins officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Creek Cemetery. A reception will be held in the Geib Family Center in New Philadelphia following the committal. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice Truman House, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
