Merle P. Harris

Merle P. Harris a retired school teacher, died on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Ochsner Hospital. She was a native of New Orleans, Kenner, and a resident of Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Payton Sr. and Annie Bell Payton. Sister of Ora Lee Landry, Warren and Joseph Payton. She was a devoted aunt to Eboni Payton.

Relatives and friends of the family, also member of Pilgrim Baptist Church, all neighboring churches, and employees of Jefferson Healthcare are invited to attend the service. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 2114 Rev. Richard Wilson Dr., Kenner, LA. Officiating Rev. Dr. Mitchell J. Stevens Sr. Visitation at 9 :00 a.m. Interment: Belle Grove Cemetery, Kenner, LA. Arrangements by Richardson Funeral Home of Jefferson, River Ridge, LA.
