Mervin James Willig

Mervin James Willig passed away peacefully on August 29, 2017 at the age of 71 years. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resided in Harvey, LA. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan H. Willig; parents, John Bennett Jr. and Ethel Amelia Maltry Willig; sisters, Ethel Willig Cannata and Edna Mae Willig DiSalvo. Survivors include his brothers, Donald Willig (Elvera) and Melvin Willig (Rose); sister, Elaine J. Willig and brother-in-law Russell DiSalvo Sr. Also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mervin was a member of Heritage Bible Church and worked at G & M Electric Motor and Pump for 17 years. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Passages Hospice for their care and compassion. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Heritage Bible Church, 785 Heritage Avenue in Terrytown on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 7 PM.
