Michael Blanchard, age 52, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. He was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Metairie. Michael was the beloved husband of Melinda Elmer Blanchard and proud father of Michael Joseph Blanchard. He is survived by his brother, David Blanchard (Lisa) and godchildren, Elizabeth Grace Blanchard, and Douglas Smith. He is the son of Anna Faucheaux (Terry) and Michael Blanchard. He is survived by his aunts, Margaret Savage (the late Albert), Phyllis Smith (Douglas), and Stephanie Dupre Martino (Darren). Michael enjoyed everything to do with the outdoors. He loved snowboarding, traveling, hiking, football, and cooking. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially crawfish and crab boils. Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 6425 W. Metairie Ave., Metairie, LA 70003 with a Funeral Mass starting at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 5190 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
