Michael Crow Obituary

Surrounded by his family, Michael "Mike" G. Crow died Thursday, September 17, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. He was born to the late Sidney and Rita Crow in New Orleans on November 1, 1946. He was the beloved brother of Sidney A. Crow, Jr. and Donald J. Crow. Mike was a proud graduate of Jesuit High School, class of 1964, where he played football and baseball and was recognized as the "Outstanding Athlete" in his senior year. He then went on to earn an MBA and Juris Doctor at Loyola University, graduating in 1972. During his time as an undergraduate, Mike moonlighted as an amateur boxer. He went on to become a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Military Policeman through the R.O.T.C. program. While in Law School, he coached football at De La Salle, taught religion at Jesuit, and organized a baseball team at St. Stephen's Elementary. He was a Senior Partner at the Law Firm of Adams and Reese LLP and through his work there he became a mentor to some of this city's top lawyers. Despite his many successes and contributions, Mike may have been best known for his annual Breaux/Crow gator hunt at his beloved fishing camp in Lafourche, LA. Whether on the field, in the courtroom, or in the swamp, Mike was a champion and force to be reckoned with. He is survived by his children: Kevin, Erin, Lindsey, Lisa, and Stephen; his brothers Buddy and Don; and the mothers of his children, Anne and Richelle; as well as his many, many friends. The funeral service will be held at Jesuit Chapel, 4133 Banks St., Saturday, September 26th, at 10:30am. Respects may be paid to the family beginning at 9am. Mike was a deeply spiritual man. At the time of his death, there were a series of his handwritten cards with biblical quotes that were shared. We leave you with one: "Be joyful always. Pray continually. Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thess. 5:16-18. Rest in peace Gator Mike. To the Crow Family - your husband/dad had a great influence not only on me, but several of my brothers that passed through the halls of Jesuit High. His outgoing personality, sense of humor, and never ending smile are just a tidbit of the fond memories we have of Mike. He was a big part of several Foley boys' lives, and helped each of us develop both in class and on the field. Most of all, he had a big heart and generous spirit. Pleas accept our deepest sympathies for your loss, and know that we all will miss him dearly, and are forever grateful for his gift to us.

Mike was my first religion teacher at Jesuit in 1967. To us as pre-freshmen, he was a larger than life person - especially when he told the class that no one could fail his class provided that they believed in God!
My thoughts and prayers are with the Crow family.

Mr Crow, rest in peace. To all the family, my respect and sympathy. There's a highschool in the region of Madrid where Lisa's dad is an icon: Antares, where Lisa worked for 2 years. We all love Lisa, so resilient and positive. We've felt sorry about her dad's suffering, we've missed her since she came back home to take care of her dad. We guess that Lisa is as amazing as her parents. Now we feel so sorry about your loss. Mr Crow, I guess that you will be feeling so proud of your amazing Lisa. All my love to Lisa and her family.
