Mr. Steve, Mrs. Diane, Mitch, Jeanne, and family....I have been trying to find the right words to say to you guys. Mike was like a brother to me growing up at OLPH. It seemed like we spent almost every weekend at your house or my parents' house. Mike was always smiling and definitely lived life to the fullest. He was so blessed to find a wonderful wife in Jeanne that he could share his life with. Know that he was loved by all that met him. I know that I feel blessed to have an angel up there making everyone laugh! I continue to pray for you and your family every day.

Jeanne,

Though I did not have the opportunity to spend a great deal of time with Mike and you, those moments I did have left memories of two souls moving in perfect sync with each other. It is rare to find couples who share the "oneness" you and Mike had. I know you will always treasure the memories and life you shared. My thoughts and prayers are with you every day. M Sartori

Jeanne, you and Mike were some of the happiest, funniest, and most fun-loving people I every knew. The number one lesson I am taking from this is to have fun now, don't put it off, and something my youngest son says comes to mind-if anyone is in your life that is bringing unhappiness to you and yours, then you don't need them in your life-it's too short. Live life to the fullest! I'm getting on in age now-but that is what I want to do from her on.

I am so happy to have known Mike, and both of you as a couple! You really were an example of how to LIVE life! Thank you both!

I want to thank everyone who has written a message to me and the families. It means so much to know how much laughter Mike brought to so many. His life was cut short much too soon, but he lived his life the way he wanted. He was happy and fulfilled in his work and had great friends and family who he cherished. He loved his nieces and nephew and remained a big kid at heart until the day he left us. I am keeping the happy memories close because I know that is what he would have wanted. Please take something from the unexpected passing of my dear husband and always let the people in your life who are important to you know how much they mean to you. Also, no matter how young you are, please let family and friends know how you want things handled when you die. It will relieve some of the stress from such an awful time. I wanted everyone to know I appreciate all their kind words, thoughts, and prayers. I will never love anyone like I did Mike Haupt, and I am so happy we found each other and had 12 wonderful years together as man and wife. I know he knew how much he meant to me and his family and friends. I hope we can all say that when it's our time to leave this Earth.

Mike was a great person, always fun, always full of life.....we worked together at wendy's back in the 80's, where there was never a dull moment when mike was around...too many stories to tell, too many great memories....he was a great guy and a great friend..he'll be missed terribly

Although I have not seen Mike in over 20 years, I will never forget the fun times we had working at Wendy's in Chalmette. He always had a quick wit about him, and he made everyone laugh. Because of his style of humor and his demeanor, we nicknamed him "Grandpa". I am so sorry for your loss.

To Mike's Wife & Family,
I worked with Mike at Shaw - he always had a big smile on his face - Mike made Videos & Music CD's for my husband and I for our family & social functions - he always did a wonderful job - I will cherish his works even more now that he is gone - My fondest memory of Mike was after Katrina he spent a lot of time with his family, as many of us did because of the devastation caused by the hurricane - never once did I ever hear Mike complain of the close quarters, in fact it was just the opposite, he seemed to totally enjoy that time of togetherness - that in itself made me realize how big a heart Mike had - he had an enormous love for his family - my heart is broken for your loss - - -

Jeanne and family -

Even though I only met Jeanne once, I feel like I have known all of you for years. Mike an I would spend hours discussing our families and life growing up in "Da Parish". The IT department here at USAgencies will certainly never be the same without Mike.Along with his technical abilities, Mike's witty comments, practical jokes and incredible sense of humor will be sorely missed around here.

I am really going to miss my fellow prank committee member.

Mine and my family's thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike at USAgencies. Because of his last name I always called him "Bunny Rabbit" and because of my job he always called me "Terminator!" There was never a dull moment in that IT department that's for sure! Mike was so full of personality and a true joy to all of those around him. His personality was definitely one of a kind. I know that his work was well respected by his superiors and he was a wonderful asset to the company.

My heart and prayers go out to you Jeanne. I pray that you find the strength to keep on living even though the biggest part of your life is gone. Just remember, each day that passes is one step closer to you getting to see him again.

I also send my deepest sympathy to all of Mike's family. He will truly be missed.
