Mildred Proctor Obituary

PROCTOR Mildred Banks Proctor, went on to be with the Lord, January 24, 2012. Mildred was born to the union of the late Simonett and Elizabeth Wilson Banks in November of 1914. Reared by her father and paternal grandparents the late John and Phyllis Banks she was one of eleven children. Wife of the late Matthew Proctor, Sr. Beloved mother of Bernice (Curtis, Jr.), Matthew, Jr. (Jean) and Clarence, Sr. (Hattie). Grandmother of Shelly C. Lombard (Stephen), Clarence Proctor, Jr., Curtis Carkum, III, David M. Proctor (Karen), Duane P. Carkum, Sr. (Nettie), Monique C. Edwards (Lennon), Deanna B. Proctor and Troy Jones. Also survived by her sisters Ethel and Beverly, Sister-in-law Ida Moore, twelve great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. When the children entered school, Mildred went to work outside the home as a seamstress and later worked as a PBX operator. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Visitation at Gentilly Baptist Church 5141 Franklin Ave., New Orleans, LA, on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 9:00-10:30am. Followed by a procession to the Funeral at First Baptist Church 3737 Bayou Rd., Verret, Louisiana. Funeral to begin at 11:30 am. Interment at First Baptist Church Cemetery.
