Miriam Large Obituary



MURRELLS INLET | Miriam Pierce Large of Indigo Creek, formerly of upstate N.Y., died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005 at her home.



Born June 8, 1929 in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harold Pierce and Mary Diabo Pierce Tobin. Mrs. Large was a homemaker and had been a volunteer for 25 years at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y. and had served on the hospital board. She was a member of Episcopal Church of the Resurrection and a member of South Strand Book Club.



Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Randolph B. Large; sons, Allen L. Large of Redmond, Wash., Steven M. Large of Creston, N.C. and Mark D. Large of Okeechobee, Fla.; eight grandchildren; brothers, Peter Pierce, Keith Pierce and Edwin Pierce, all of Syracuse, N.Y., Gary Pierce of Plano, TX and Ray Pierce of Binghamton, N.Y.; sisters, Vivian Lewis-Ritter of Indialantic, Fla., Gloria Smith of Surfside Beach, and Alberta Gautreaux of Baton Rouge, La., and Karen Delisle of Vancouver, B.C.



Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. Inurnment will be later in New York.
