To the family of Dr.Kern,I am so sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to you. Dr Kern was my children's pediatrician until they were grown.I think he was a great diagnostician. He had wonderful way of relating to children and to their parents as well. He had a great sense of humor and remembered so many things that my children would say to him which made them feel special. I think he was a good man, very interesting and highly intellengent. We feel blessed to have known him and had him in our lives for so many years. Rest in peace Dr. Kern.

I'm 59 years old and Dr. Kern was my pediatrician up until I was 18 years old. What an awesome Dr. he was. I hated when I had to move on to another physician due to my age..Today, you don't see many physicians with the same caring heart as him. I wS just wondering if he wS still alive. Even though I'm older and a registered nurse , I still think of the care he rendered to me and my siblings while growing up. To God be the Glory for a wonderful caring doctor.

Mrs. Bertha and Family. I'm sorry for your loss, you all have my deepest sympathy. My heart is heavy, Dr. Kern was an exceptional man who always had a kind word, a smile or great advice to give me. I will miss his smile he gave as I entered in the Condo every night, his conversations, photos, and his company. I've come to care deeply for Doc and Mrs. Bertha and have adopted them as my Extended Family. He will be missed and I pray GOD gives you all the strength you need to persevere. I thank GOD he let our paths cross.....

So sorry for your loss. I remember Dr. Kern as a very kind man, always inquisitive, as I remember him. Being a friend of his son Michael's, I also remember him as extremely tolerant. Several of us teenagers spent many evenings in the Kern home in the 70's cutting up and doing what teenager's do. Maybe we spent so many nights there because Dr. and Mrs. Kern were so easy-going.
All my best to the family at this solemn time.

Sending my condolences to Mrs. Bertha and family. Dr. Kern was my pediatrician and was a very kind, caring and dedicated pediatrician.
I only have good memories of this wonderful man. As a child, I looked forward to going to see Dr. Kern, see the new pictures he had taken, and hopefully hear that his heel was feeling better. I can still remember my chart number 9969.
Dr. Kern will be missed, but never forgotten.

Sad to hear the news of Nathan's passing. What a pediatrician. What a friend. I first met Nathan when I joined the Rothschild Pediatric Group in 1992, fresh out of my residency. I remember Nathan was on vacation the day I started, but he left me a nice note welcoming me to the group. Still have his note to this day. Nathan was without a doubt the smartest pediatrician I have ever known. He was my mentor and my friend. I had the pleasure of sharing an office with him for many years at Rothschild. I respected him as a physician and enjoyed his friendship even more. Nathan by far had the most influence on who I have become as a pediatrician. Whenever there was a tough case in the office with a patient's particular illness, we (my other partners) would often consult each other for more input. Nathan would go into the room, evaluate the patient, come out and make the correct diagnosis. His famous words were, "I have spoken". He wasn't cocky...he was just right all the time. All my other partners valued Nathan's input as well because he was an extremely intelligent doctor. To this day I use Nathan's "I have spoken" line often when making my own correct diagnoses. I'll never forget you friend. Thanks again for passing on your knowledge of pediatrics and thanks for being a good friend. I and Cheri along with Dolleen and the whole staff at Ormond Pediatric Group will miss you ..................................I have spoken.

I met Dr. Kern once many years ago in his role as a photographer. He was personable and agreeable man, and I will continue to remember him with fondness when I see his signed photos that adorn local health facilities.
