Nelda Lassere Obituary

LASSERE Nelda Miles Lassere, a native of New Orleans, former resident of Prairieville and Regency Place Nursing Home in Baton Rouge, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2008 at Ferncrest Manor Nursing Home in New Orleans. Age 84. She served on the usher board of her church, prior to her illness and with pride as a volunteer for several years at Martin Luther King Elementary School and was honored recently for her service there. Daughter of the late Leo Miles and Loretta Douglas Kirp. Wife of the late Frank Lassere. Mother of her devoted twin sons, Donald (Ann) and Ronald (Anella) Joseph. Sister of the late Loretta Miles Martin. Also survived by 7 adored grandchildren, 1 step-granddaughter, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, many loving nieces, nephews, cherished extended family members and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors, Officers and Members of Hartzell United Methodist Church and Gideon Christian Fellowship Churches; Faculty and Staff of Martin Luther King Elementary School are invited to attend the Visitation on Friday, November 7, 2008 at Hartzell United Methodist Church, 2014 Caffin Avenue, New Orleans, La., from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 am. Rev. James Haynes, Officiating. Interment Providence Memorial Park, 8200 Airline Dr., Metairie, La. 70003. No Wake.
