Othello Edwards Obituary

Othello Edwards Jr. entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Husband of the late Loretta Janet Edwards; Son of the late Othello Edwards Sr. and Annie Smith Edwards; Father of Othello Edwards III and Johnathan Blake Edwards; Brother of Barbara Hawkins and Harry Patterson; Grandfather of Audrene Shawda Edwards, Othello Edwards IV and Lealand Dakota Edwards; Great grandfather of Cadence Edwards. He was a lifelong member of St. John AME Church, Member of Legionarier, Elks Club and Fraternal order of Police and Fireman. He served in the US Navy for 10 years and was employed by DFA. He attended LB Landry High School and received his degree from Rivers Institute. He is survived by a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 1100 Verret St. Algiers, LA. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11:00am. Visitation will begin at 9:00am. Interment: Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA. Arrangement by: D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 1020 Virgil St. Gretna, LA.
