Otis Davis Obituary

Otis Davis, Jr., affectionately known as "June", was the fourth child born to the union of Luevillia and the late Otis Davis, Sr. on November 20, 1954 in Clinton, LA. He later moved to New Orleans, LA. Otis entered into eternal life at Ochsner Foundation Hospital on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 surrounded by family. He accepted Christ at an early age at Clinton Missionary Baptist Church and in later years he reunited with his Lord and Savior at 5th African Baptist Church. As a student, Otis attended Booker T. Washington High School. At the age of 17, He received his Stonemasonry and Bricklayer certification through the Bricklayers local #1 Cap and Trade Apprenticeship Program. In addition to his mother, those left with broken hearts to cherish his memory and live out his legacy of love are his sons, Otis Davis, III and Dontate Davis (Jesslyn); grandsons, Kamden and Dontate Davis, Jr; sisters, Ethel Mae Davis, Delores Adams (Louis) and lifelong companion, Leona Robinson. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his father, Otis was also preceded in death by his sisters, Bobbie and Jacqueline Davis; nephews, Tommie Reynolds, Brian and Deshawn Davis; nieces, Terrilyn and Lakita Davis. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral. A Celebration Service honoring the life of Mr. Otis "June" Davis, Jr. will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 10 am, Pastor Antoine Jacobs, officiating. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Blvd., New Orleans, LA. 70122. Visitation 9 am in the chapel. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, seating in the chapel is limited. Everyone in attendance is required to adhere to all restrictions. You must wear a face mask and practice social distancing at all times. Please sign online guestbook at www.Charbonnetfuneralhome.com.
