Pamela Gibbons Obituary

GIBBONS Pamela Manning Gibbons November 10, 1941 - April 4, 2011 Mom, Ma, Gammy, Gia, daughter, sister, Aunt Pam, LaLa, Gamsgirl, lifelong friend, Neville Brothers' biggest fan, loyal manager of the Chateau Chillon, Mardi Gras dancer…Pamela lived her colorful life her way. And when she passed on, that's how she did it: peacefully in her own home, daughters by her side. Pamela was born and raised in New Orleans by her beloved parents, Nell and Bill. As a young mother, she moved to Calif. with her daughter, Courtney. In Woodacre, she had her second daughter, Sasha. They would spend time in both Marin and N'awlins and eventually, Pamela would make her home in Mill Valley, with Mt Tam looking on. Pamela leaves behind many to remember and love her: Courtney & Jonas, Rachel, Zella; Sasha & Adam; brother Ron & Janice; niece Monique & Richard, Tristan & Tessa; nephew, Mark; and countless friends. We'll celebrate her life on Saturday, June 18th, 2011 in Calif. Contact: [email protected]. May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. In honor of Pamela, please get a full body checkup and use sunscreen!

I wish I could have met Pam because her daughter Courtney is an amazing friend. I know family is so important to Courtney and Pam will be very missed. I love seeing this picture of her so when I hear Courtney's stories, I'll feel even more connected.

I am so very sorry for your loss, my heart goes out to you. I know that words are inadequate, but I hope you will find some comfort in knowing that Pam touched many people and enriched their lives. I have many wonderful memories of the times spent in Woodacre. This world is a much sader place without her. You are in my thoughts... much love - Diana

Although I have not seen Pam in a number of years I will always remember her as Lovely free spirit. When she entered a room the light seemed a little brighter. Pam's Light will continue to shine through Courtney, Sasha and all her friends and family. Gods newest angel, Pam had a kind and gentle soul and I am thankful that she was apart of my life.

All my love and prayers,
Tracey

We had such a history, California, NOLA, Nevilles, and even Peter Frampton (whom you loved so much), concerts, late nights, and back stage. You are in our hearts and will always be a light in our lives. Love you, Suzanne and Brendan

I didn't know you, Pamela. But I do know that you left a wonderful legacy--your daughter and granddaughters. They are some of the best people I know. You did good.

Pamela was always such a blessing in my life. We began our friendship when I was 15 and she was 17, and we remained friends, and we also stayed in touch with each other until shortly before her passing. I will miss her until we are reunited in heaven. I am praying for God's comfort and peace for her family members, and for all of her friends as they grieve Pamela's passing.

I didn't anticipate the shock and sadness at seeing this in black and white...seems completely absurd, frankly.

On a lighter note, I forgot to include Miss Pam and Miz Pamela...anyone else have any other nicknames?

Please feel free to share your thoughts here...

Missing you so much, Mom.
