Patricia Morrow Obituary

Mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and faithful servant of Jesus, Patricia "Patsy" Chase Morrow, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at the age of 76. Patsy was born in West Point, GA on June 26, 1947 to Jesse Norman Chase and Katie Lou Aldridge Chase. She was preceded in death by both parents and her sister, Annette Chase Philpott. She was the beloved mother of Jamie Morrow (Catherine) of Madison, MS and Chad Morrow (Leigh) of Gretna, LA. She was "Nanny" to five cherished granddaughters, Audrey, Meredith, Camille, Margaret, and Juliette Morrow, and two grandsons, James and Matthew Cobb. She is also survived by her nephew David Philpott (Dana) of Lanett, AL and niece Danna Perdue (Dwayne) of LaGrange, GA. Patsy was raised in Lanett, AL. As a young person, she was very involved in youth activities at Lanett Church of the Nazarene. She also served as the church pianist during this time. All of Patsy's friends knew her as an unselfish and caring person. She graduated from Lanett High School with the class of 1965 and was well known for her baby blue Ford Mustang. Following high school, Patsy attended Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, TN and graduated with a degree in 1967 from Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, AL. As the wife of a U.S. Marine, Pat was well traveled, living in North Carolina, Japan, Hawaii, and Florida before settling in New Orleans, LA. Pat worked many years for USPA & IRA and the United States Civil Service, including Customs and Border Protection of the Department of Homeland Security, all while raising two rambunctious boys. She could often be found on the bleachers at a baseball field cheering on her sons with all her heart. Then, as her sons' families grew and grandchildren arrived, she found herself cheering on her grandchildren at softball games, soccer games, volleyball games and piano recitals. She enjoyed spending her time visiting her grandchildren and spoiling them as much as possible. She also enjoyed reading, playing the piano, traveling, and visiting with dear friends during retirement. Patsy was known for her many acts of selflessness. She often sacrificed her time and energy to take care of those she loved. According to family and friends, to know Pat was to love her, and many remember her as one of the kindest people they ever met. Visitation will be at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home at 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, LA on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Our Lady of Wisdom Healthcare Center, 5600 Gen de Gaulle Dr., New Orleans, LA 70131. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Our Lady of Wisdom in Algiers, as well as Ochsner Medical Center Westbank for their tireless devotion.
