I had so much respect for Patrick. I got to know him through his mom who worked in the treasurer's office, with Pearl Orkus, at Holy Cross when I was a teacher there. I was delighted when he invited me, along with the Orkus', to sit with his mom at his instillation as Abbot. Always so genuinely kind and interested in what I, and others, were doing in our ministries. So grateful to have known him.

My condolences to the family, friends, and Monks of Saint Joseph Abbey on the death of Abbot Patrick Regan. Shortly after he had returned to the Seminary College after completing his doctorate, Abbot Patrick (then Fr. Patrick) taught a class in liturgical studies in which I was a student. He not only had a passion for his scholarship but also had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a thoughtful and caring teacher, mentor, and friend.

I will forever cherish the memories of my visit with Patrick a few weeks ago in January. The Abbey, alumni, and Christian community will surely miss his presence.
