Paul Graham Obituary

Paul Graham Jr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the age of 77. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 5, 1946 to Catherine and Paul Graham. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara Flood Graham; his children, Paul Graham III (Melissa), and Gretchen Sakowski (Stanley); his grandchildren, Faith Sakowski, Stanley Sakowski IV, and Evan Vicknair. He is also survived by his siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends. A native of New Orleans and proud resident of both Chalmette and Mandeville throughout his lifetime, Paul graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School in 1966. After high school, he attended Louisiana State University. Paul began his professional career as a lineman for South Central Bell, became a supervisor at AT&T, and retired from Avaya Communication Systems. Paul was successful and well respected as an outdoorsman from New Orleans to the Northshore area. Paul was loving, compassionate, and most of all, a very caring person to all. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, golfing, and running triathlons in his earlier years. He was an avid and dedicated handyman, generously offering his services to all he loved. He was a prolific conversationalist, always providing support and advice. Paul bravely persevered in spite of the presence of muscular disease for many years. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family and friends. He never missed a dance recital, a baseball game, or any other important family event. Paul was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of his cherished friends and family until they meet him again. Paul's commitment to his Catholic faith was strong throughout his entire life. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the compassionate care provided by his ICU nurses at St. Tammany Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please kindly consider contributions in memory of Paul Graham Jr. to The Muscular Dystrophy Association. https://mda.donordrive.com. Barbara and Family, I´m so sorry to hear of your loss. Paul was my cousin whom I did not know closely as I moved to Vicksburg,Ms as a child. But I do remember he had a beautiful smile and a twinkle in his eyes. Prayers for you and his family.

Barbara & Family, may I offer prayers for Paul and your family. He was my cousin and Godfather. Though I had not seen him in years, I have wonderful memories of him and his quiet kindness. He was a great example for me to follow as his godson. God Bless your family.

Barbara & Family, Johnny & I are so saddened to hear of Paul's passing. We know the last several years have been hard on him and all of you, but considering that he wouldn't be around some day was just not what we dwelled on. He was a great friend to Johnny on Hamlet Place and beyond. A wonderful Best Man at our wedding and always a smile & kind word. Johnny looked forward to his visits to the dealership when he was still able to drive and have the cars serviced. We will treasure his memory always and we will continue to pray for him, you and the family. All our best, Johnny & Debi

Barbara and family, we are so sorry to hear that Paul has gotten his wings. But he´s not suffering any longer and has reached his goal in life to be in heaven. God only takes the best. Now you have a special angel watching over you. He was always smiling. I didn´t realize he was at Nichols the same year I was and born the same year too! Take care of yourself the way he would have and remember he´s not far and will always be in your heart. Love you, Marie and Buddy Drago
