Paul Schlumbrecht Sr. Obituary

Paul Jeffrey Schlumbrecht, Sr. of Kenner, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024, at the age of 75. He was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, born on August 31, 1948. He graduated from John McDonogh High School and received an Associate Degree in Geology from Delgado Community College. Paul worked at Krauss as the credit manager, but he spent much of his life working in the field of banking and loan management. Paul was a devout Catholic. During his life, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was proud that he once served as a Grand Knight. He also served on several boards, councils, and associations. He was proud of all his accomplishments and loved to tell stories about his life. Paul loved animals, and you could usually find him in his recliner watching TV with one of the dogs on his lap. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Paul Schlumbrecht and Adrian "Marie" Schlumbrecht, and his brother David Schlumbrecht. Paul is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sarah D. Schlumbrecht; his children: Paul Jeffrey Schlumbrecht Jr. ("Jo" Xiaojing) and Julie Schlumbrecht (Adrian Orihuela). He was a loving grandpa to his one and only grandchild, Sadie Rose. He is also survived by his sisters: Ann (Larry Menesses) and Paula Schlumbrecht; his brother, Bruce Schlumbrecht; his brother-in-law, John Delchamps; his sister-in-law Suellen Chatelain, three nephews: Eric Menesses, Bryan Delchamps and Shawn Delchamps; and his Goddaughter, Macie Knighten. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Paul's life on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. I was so very sorry to hear of Paul's passing. I always enjoyed talking with him. He was always very funny. I have been lifting Sarah and the entire Schlumbrecht family up in our Father's arms since I heard of his passing. I am continuing to pray and asking our Lord to give them comfort and strength especially when they see Paul for the final time. Prayers for the Schlumbrecht family.

Condolences to Sarah and family, you will always be in our thoughts and prayers. Paul was a longtime friend and confidant. We had so many good times together and great memories, which I will always look back on, when my spirits need a lift. Paul was the godfather to my daughter, Macie. He and Sarah always show Macie so much love and generosity. She always looked forward to the Christmas visit from Paran and Aunt Sarah.
Sarah, Julie and Jeffery, Stay Strong and God Bless.
Love,
Mike, Rachelle, Macie and Johnpaul.

My sympathies go out to Paul´s wife and family. I knew Paul when working at Fidelity Bank. He was always kind to me and had a great smile and sense of humor. Rest in the peace of Christ.

Your entire family is in my thoughts and prayers. I represented First Homestead in 1982-1985 and worked with Paul often. He was a great person and banker and I always enjoyed working with him.
