A Memorial Service for Peggy McDavid Shoemaker will be held Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 1 pm in the Sanctuary of St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in her memory to the Organ Fund at St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church in New Orleans. Peggy passed away on December 29, 2020 at the age 87. She was born on December 24, 1933 in McComb, MS her to loving parents Hezzie Burlon McDavid and Rose Stokes McDavid. Peggy was pre-deceased by her parents; her brother Burlon Leroy McDavid of Zachary, LA; and daughter Rose Marie Shoemaker. She is survived by daughters Bonnie Shoemaker of New Orleans and Amy Owen of Harrisville, MS; sons Robert J. Shoemaker, Jr. of Mobile, AL and John Mark Shoemaker of Spanish Fort, AL, and her dear friend Steven B. Blackmon of New Orleans. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, and many more she claimed as her own throughout the years.
