His passing is so sad. I´ll always remember Phil introducing we LU dorm dwellers to the Verbena Street Bakery he called « Mama Glaze ». Phil had his own charmîng lingo. A group of us went there once in the middle of the night when the dôughnuts were made

New Orleans is a little less quirky with Philip´s departure. We grew up together in Castle Manor in the 1950s/early `60s, playing every game we could get our hands on or make up. I´m pretty sure it was Philip who taught me chess. He was wickedly smart, and he set a standard for academic achievement that I admired but never quite reached. We both attended Jesuit and Loyola, but I lost track of him thereafter (I having moved out of state) until our 50th Jesuit reunion in 2016. We had a nice conversation, but much too short for all the catching up we had to do. I had hoped to see him at our 60th in a couple of years, but.... RIP, Philip. You touched a lot of people.

Prayers and peace to the family! I enjoyed seeing Philip at many musical concerts over the years and discussing the artists and the music. He was a gentle soul with a warm smile! My condolences.

Phil was a great friend to my late father Allen M. Johnson, Sr., and family. With our condolences to the DeLonys.
