Let me start by saying how very sorry I am for this terrible loss of Philip. I went to elementry school with him. And we both had a crush on each other. I thought of him as a cute boy (at that time). He was such a goofy boy back then and he would always make me giggle. Looking back at that time in our lives, I am so broken hearted about this. To ALL the family, take good care of yourselves. My God keep his loving hand on you. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers. I hope everything works out with that precious little angle, Kennedy. Love to all. Cheryl Sullivan Ferrier

Wow, I'm still in shock after reading about Philip and his tragic untimely death. We were really close at LSUSD but lost touch after he left Gretna. My prayers go out to his family and I will be thinking of him and the good times we shared.

My sincerest condolences to the entire Gattuso family and especially his children. It was a pleasure going to grammar school with Philip and having the opportunity to work in the same dental circle of friends and associates for about 10 years. He was certainly one of the nicest guys anyone could know. He will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. God Bless!

We have been in disbelief since hearing about Philip. We were friends during our residency programs at OU College of Dentistry. In fact, Philip was there the night my husband and I met. We send our condolences to his family and pray for his little girl Kennedy.

We are all caught off guard by the loss of our friend Phil. He was best man at my wedding many years ago. Great classmate and study partner at LSUSD. I still have great fond remembrances of Phil from school. Phil was a great social guy and the life of any gathering. Fun stuff happened when he was around. Our family is grieved to hear the news and our hearts go out to his his family. Malcolm Musgrave DDS (LSUSD 1986)

Philip was a great friend and boss. I'm just numb I miss him and Kennedy so much my heart is so heavy. He will be greatly greatly missed. The twinkle in his eyes and that big ole smile. He is resting in the arms of Jesus and that is so awesome. I'll see my friend again some day. He would want us all to be happy and not sad and just celebrate life. Heres to you Philip. Love Debi J

My thoughts and prayers are with the large family he has, all in Gretna. He was a great person to grow up with and I have fond memories of our growing up together. We had a special group of friends that always supported each other, and to this day; no matter where anyone lived we stayed close. He will be missed. Those memories will give me comfort as I hope it does to his family. Michael Harmon (Columbus, GA.)

Philip & I had only recently become acquainted; initially through Match.com & subsequently with frequent communication via phone & email. We were so looking forward to finally meeting over the Thanksgiving holiday when he & Kennedy planned to travel to Oklahoma. I'd actually bought us tickets for the OU vs OSU game. What a tragedy...what a waste of life. My heart breaks for your family. I have pictures of him with his mother & his sons taken recently during his visit to New Orleans in my email & would gladly forward them to you if you do not already have them. My prayers & condolences are with you. He made me laugh.

The news of Phillip has been devastating, we were dating. He was such a gentleman and absolutely loved Kennedy. He took Kennedy to story time and IHOP on Saturdays and invited us along. Kennedy loved to wear her pink dress and is such a, “tiny little angle”. Philip was a great cook, he was classy, very handsome, adored kids, always had a smile, he was fun to be with and we really enjoyed talking. I love and miss them both very much and have had a difficult time dealing with this tragedy. I’m so happy he visited his family before this all happened. My heart goes out to you and your family. I love him to…… Amber
