Phyllis Alice Hunstock

Phyllis Alice Lightweis Hunstock passed away peacefully on August 22, 2014, surrounded by family and friends at the age of 90. Born and raised in New Jersey, she met her soul mate and spouse of 69 years during World War II. Following their marriage, she moved south and spent most of her adulthood in Louisiana. She was a loving wife to her husband, Joseph L. Hunstock; a wonderful mother to her daughter, Donna Lynne Hunstock; a caring grandmother to her 2 grandchildren, Lisa Moran Kuecker (Daniel Kuecker) and Mark Hunstock Moran, and a special great-grandmother to her great-grandson, Remington Joseph Kuecker, all of whom have survived her. Her nurturing spirit, coupled with a feistiness, gave her an engaging soul that richly blessed all who knew her. She loved unconditionally and valued family and God. She embraced life and found beauty in simplicity. The love of her life, her husband, was always by her side and their enduring love was a true gift to witness. Mrs. Hunstock was preceded in death by her parents, Emma Hensel Lightweis and John Olt Hunstock, and her brother, Edward Lightweis. Services will be held at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church; 25393 Mt. Pisgah Road, Franklinton, on Saturday, August 30, 2014. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm with the funeral at 2:00 pm with burial following at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
