R. Gray Lawson R. Gray Lawson of Powhatan, died on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Gray was a lifelong resident of Powhatan County, and a proud graduate of Ferrum College where he played football for beloved coach Hank Norton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Pauline Lawson; his son, Trevor Gray Lawson; and his brother, Curtis Lawson. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda Lawson; daughters, H. Lynnette Lawson (Richard) of Danville, and Kelsey Lawson (Lance); granddaughters, Mereweather and Ellen Gray Lackey; sister, Linda Murphy; and very special great-nephews, Will and Kyle Dingus. The family extends special thanks to the nurses of Midlothian Davita for their love and care. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, October 24, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Bennett and Barden Funeral Home in Powhatan. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Muddy Creek Baptist Church in Powhatan.
